So, if you are staying at the premier inn across the road, park up and scan THEIR QR code indoors when you check in. Google says the Asda carpark has links to premier overnight parking, IT DOES NOT. Felt weird leaving the car in what seems like an abandoned yard but actually no complaints. I just paid via the app rather than the QR code. Premier tried to make me pay twice but the link brought me to the same app/website I had already paid for. Good luck.

The space is well located just outside the city wall. We had to ask in the hotel before we located the entrance, though it's just opposite. The ground is uneven in places, and someone had parked outside a marked bay, making it extremely difficult to manoeuvre out of our space. But it was OK.

Pre booked parking from 8am-6pm and on arrival there was no spaces. We had to leave our car so it wasn’t in a designated bay so we are expecting a lovely fine through the post. Lots of people had pre booked when there was no availability it was shocking.

Arrived to find no parking spaces. When trying to contact using the telephone number in the email i was presented with a voicemail that stated the number didn't take inbound calls and to complete the online form. This was frustrating as I was in an area where I had no idea where to park nearby, I'm disabled hence why I pre booked the space. I would suggest a better process for spaces that are booked to prevent someone else using the space.

The space was advertised as "York Layerthorpe - Premier Inn Guests,". There was no space in Premier. Looking at the directions, they sent me along Layerthorp to a turn off. After much experimentation, this turned to be into the local branch of Halfords followed by a short walk into the ASDA shop. There was a number provided for the owners of the car park. After several minutes on hold, a robot voice told me that the number didn't accept incoming calls. For want of anything else and despite there being nothing to suggest it was the right answer, I parked in the ASDA car park. I seem to have got away with it.

Disappointedly, the car park is full and can’t find any other parking nearby. I then need to take some times to search around again and spent extra cost on parking. It kind of interrupts my itinerary spending in York.

Just across the road parking space could be seen from our room. At £16 per day it is not cheap but is safe and viewable. It is York where close city space is limited Get there early to find a space.
